YLE uutisoi tiistaina 21.8.2018 valtiovarainministeriön kaavailevan jopa neljänneksen leikkauksia yliopistosairaaloiden tutkimusrahoitukseen. Euroissa tämä tarkoittaisi jopa kuuden miljoonan vähennystä kliiniselle tutkimukselle elintärkeään rahoitukseen.
