We have the pleasure to announce the first runners of our relay race of health at Upgraded Life Festival 2018. Like the whole ecosystem, also our speakers represent a comprehensive group of experts bringing insights from diverse layers and aspects of health. 

Professor Shafi Ahmed – Surgeon & futurist (LinkedIn)

Professor Shafi Ahmed is a multi award winning surgeon, teacher, futurist, innovator, entrepreneur and an evangelist in augmented and virtual reality. He is a 3x TEDx and an international keynote speaker and is a faculty at Singularity University, a think tank in Silicon Valley. He is a cancer surgeon at The Royal London and St Bartholomew’s Hospitals and has been awarded the accolade of the most watched surgeon in human history.

His mission is to merge the world of medicine, global education, and virtual and augmented reality to democratize and scale surgical education to make it affordable and accessible to everyone using the power of connectivity to allow equitable surgical care.

Julie Meyer – Investor, CEO & Founder at Ariadne Capital (LinkedIn)

Julie Meyer is a leading investor and entrepreneur in digital, high-growth, early stage businesses around the world. She has driven many continent-wide initiatives for creating wealth and growth in the European economy. Julie believes that ‘Individual Capitalism’ is the force of the 21st century. She trusts people’s ingenuity to solve the world’s problems at both the macro and micro levels – and to expand prosperity.

James Hewitt – Head of Science & Innovation at Hintsa Performance (LinkedIn)

James Hewitt is a Performance Scientist, speaker and author. In his work as Head of Science & Innovation at Hintsa Performance, he consults for Formula 1 drivers and teams, Fortune 500 C-suite executives and frequently delivers keynotes and workshops in Europe, the United States and Asia. His specific areas of interest include the ‘future of work’ and the potential for health and wellbeing behaviours to facilitate more sustainable high-performance in knowledge work.
